Things to do with your children. By Toniann Harwood of Knot Just Jigs We have spent many an enjoyable hour these school holidays going for walks and collecting flowers and leaves to put into our flower press. Back in the day when i was little we used to use heavy books and some tissue to press our collection but today you can get lovely nifty little wooden flower presses that do the job much better and quicker (an essential for impatient children). The list of what you can do with your pressed flowers is endless, we chose to make some bookmarks and laminate them and also it was a special Aunts birthday so we made a lovely flower card, which i know she will love! Collages are also a favoutite to do as we use lots of other finds from our walks to make up some very beautiful pictures. Collect unusual stones, bark, twigs and feathers and you can use these alongside your pressed items to make a really special picture. All for the small cost of a flower press (5.00) we have had quite a few days worth of cheap activity and know that it will be used for a long time to come, especially when th lovely golden Autumn leaves start to drop!

Love the toys on your website. The flower press sounds like a great tool. I always thought patience was something I needed to teach my children though.
